In order for your website to be found on the web, you will need optimize your website and submit it to the different search engines. We have put together a couple videos that will help you through this process. Below each video you will find a summary of the outlined steps.
Web Easy SEO Video 1 - Adding Descriptive Page Titles
Outlined Steps:
- In Web Easy, you can change the Page Title by going to Modify -> Page Title
- Search engines place more weight on your page titles, so they need to be DESCRIPTIVE
- Include your best Keywords in your page titles (it needs to read well)
- Page Titles such as "Home", "About Us" "Contact Us" are poor titles and should be re-worded
Web Easy SEO Video 2 - Metatags (Author, Keywords, Description)
Outlined Steps:
- In Web Easy, you can change your Metatags by going to Build -> Website (HTML) and then press the Advanced button
- The AUTHOR field can you your name, company name, or website name
- The KEYWORDS field are words or phrases separated by commas that people would use to search for your website
- There is a 512 character limit
- Don't rely on simplistic keywords, such as "free" or "sports", instead use longer, more focused, phrases
- Try using alternate word variations
- Research keywords using
Google's Adwords Tool
- Use the plural form of a word (more popular)
- The DESCRIPTION field is a 1-3 sentence phrase of what your website is about
- Must read well
- Should include some keywords
- This should welcome the visitor to your website
Web Easy SEO Video 3 - Further Optimizing Your Website
Outlined Steps:
- Never change the package name in the Build -> Website menu (can lead to multiple versions of your website)
- Don't build your website with frames
- Limit the use of graphic text (use plain text instead)
- Use H1 Tags for important titles.
- To use H1 tags, highlight text, right-click, About Item, select Page Class, select Heading 1, press Apply
- Search Engines view H1, or Heading 1, tags as important content
- Use Alt Text for images
- To use Alt text, select an image, press CTRL+K, expand Page Item in Inspector window, edit "HTML Alt" and enter a description for the image
- Allows images to show up in a Google Image Search (useful for ecommerce sites)
- Think of ways to improve your website's visibility
- Post on other blogs and include a link to your website
- Start your own blog or forum (more searchable content)
Web Easy SEO Video 4 - Creating a Sitemap
Outlined Steps:
- Go to
www.xml-sitemaps.com and generate a "sitemap.xml" file
- Upload the "sitemap.xml" file to root folder of your website via
FTP
- For verification, view Video 6
Web Easy SEO Video 5 - Submitting to Search Engines (Google, Yahoo, Bing, etc.)

- Submitting takes 1-3 weeks
- You only need to submit once (the search engines will automatically scan for updates)
- You don't need to hire a SEO company (but you can if you don't have time)
- You will NOT be penalized if you have an attached domain, or www and non-www links showing up
Web Easy SEO Video 6- Verifying Your Website with Google and Submitting a Sitemap
Outlined Steps:
- To verify your website with Google, Yahoo and Bing, you need to setup a free account
- Go to their website and click Sign In, then click Create an Account
- Sign in to their webmaster tools page

- Click Verify Site and enter the full http address of your website
- Select verify by MetaTag
- Copy the entire meta tag from "<" to "/>"
- Open document in Web Easy, press CTRL+K, expand Page Settings in Inspector, edit "Head Elements", paste in Code
- Upload changes to your website
- Press Verify on webmaster tools page
- Repeat process for other search engines
- To verify sitemap, while in webmaster tools page, select "Verify Sitemap"
- Enter http address to your sitemap (e.g. http://www.yourdomain.com/sitemap.xml)
- Press Verify
